Pure Joy empowers women through vocational training so they have a better chance of gaining employment or starting a small business and working their way out of the cycle of poverty.

Pure Joy Women's Centre provides a caring, safe environment where women have the opportunity to learn tailoring, craft making and hairdressing. Many of these women grew up in poor rural communities where they had little or no opportunity of an education, left school early, are unemployed, or are single mothers or widows with no support. At Pure Joy they come together to learn new skills, make new friends and build confidence.

In addition to vocational training, Pure Joy now offers tailoring and hairdressing services to the public. They make a range of craft products which are sold in Australia and locally. As part of their welfare program, Pure Joy makes reusable hygiene kits for schoolgirls and impoverished women. This program is funded through the sale of the 12/24 zipped purse (AUS $12 - the cost to provide a kit | 24 - the months a kit should last).
